ATTRACTIONS
This is merely
an appetiser for countless interesting and rewarding experiences
all within a short drive from Tregathenan. Our apologises to other
attractions that hav'nt been mentioned here. |

If
you are with us between May and September don't miss the opportunity
to experience the magic of Cornwall's "Theatre under the Stars".
The Minack
Theatre offers virtually everything from Shakespear
to Gilbert and Sullivan. Even if you can't take in a show it's still
worth a visit.. |

Almost
on our doorstep another interesting place with something for everyone,
both young and not so young is Flambards
village right here in Helston. If the log flume, Teas Cups or Roller
Coaster fail to impress, we are sure that the Victorian Village
and Britain in the Blitz will. There are even "special events"
and every Monday throughout August there is a spectacular Fireworks
Finale. |

Have
you ever wondered how you can dial Australia instantaneously? A
trip to the new (for 2002) Visitors centre at Goonhilly Earth Station
will provide most of the answers and give you a fascinating day
out. Leave yourself plenty of time because this is the largest Satellite
Station on Earth. Not far to go either, you can see it from just
behind Tregathenan. |

At
some stage during your stay at Tregathenan either a ‘Merlin’
or a ‘Hawk’ will almost certainly pay a flying visit
to us. If you can’t wait for them to come to us why not visit
them at RNAS
Culdrose. (The Merlin by the way is their latest helicopter
and the Hawk is their fast jet trainer).

Your
car engine will barely have time to warm up when you decide to visit
Poldark
Mine. In fact, our advice on a nice day would be a
leisurely stroll from Tregathenan to "Step back into Cornish History".
Did you know that Tin and Copper Mining started around 2100 BC according
to J A Buckley's excellent and informative Brief History of the
Cornish Mining Industry? You can experience life underground at
first hand at Poldark, and you can even post your holiday postcards
from the deepest underground post box in Britain! |
